My 2 year old asks to "watch Churchy Mouse" almost every day. His favorite game is Queen Esther. I control the mouse. He counts out the measures with me. And then we go and measure things to bake in real life. The "Easter eggs" in the kitchen are fun, and remind me of the whimsy of Mac SE game “Cosmic Ozmo.” He is a bit distracted by the Penguin in the new version, and I’m not sure I’m a fan of the Penguin’s tone – even if it is in jest. And I’m not sure if I’ve figured out how to allow the counting and measuring in the new version (the 3D adventure). It is great procedural instruction, and even matches up with several of the California State Standards for science education. As a tool for frontloading my child’s understanding of measures and counts in recipes that we then later whip up in the kitchen together, it has been wonderful. (Posted on 3/18/12)
As a Mom always interested in something to engage my little Bethany, this bundle of games have taught her details about Bible stories I had forgotten for years. Imagine, my daughter tells me the details and now asks questions about the Bible! And the fact that practical academic skills are taught at the same time is a huge plus! There is no other game like this anywhere! Keep up the good work, Inspired Media! (Posted on 2/1/12)
