| The LEFT BEHIND
SERIES of novels, written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins
and published by Tyndale, chronicle the end of the world
in stories based on prophecies from the Bible's Book of
Revelation. The series currently includes 11 books and
has garnered a large entertainment following. To date,
sales for the series are approaching 60 million worldwide.
The books have appeared on the best-seller lists of the
Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, Publishers
Weekly, the Chicago Tribune, as well as others. One of
the novels titled "Desecration" was the top-selling
fiction hardcover title in 2001, beating out John Grisham's
"A Painted House." "The Remnant" was
released in June 2002 and was the number 1 New York Times
Best Seller for 4 weeks and was in the top 10 for 10 weeks.
"The Remnant" debuted at number one on the Christian
Booksellers Association (CBA) hardcover fiction best-seller
list for September, and remained there though December.
The most recent release, “Armageddon”, also
reached #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List and remained
in the top 15 for more than 12 weeks. In August 2003,
Armageddon was still in the top 20 of New York Times hardcover
fiction best-sellers. The first book , LEFT BEHIND regained
the top spot on the CBA paperback fiction list for February
2003 (first time since February 2002) and has been on
the CBA fiction best-seller list for 87 consecutive months. In Spring of 2004, Glorious Appearing was released and continued the tremendous success of the series by reaching #1 on the New York Times BestSeller List.
